Alzheimer’s Caregiving and Active Halo GPS

Currently, about 4 million Americans suffer from Alzheimer’s disease, and about 22,000 people die from Alzheimer’s disease every year. The Alzheimer’s Association estimates that 1 in 10 people over age 65 and nearly half of people over 85 have Alzheimer’s disease. The number of Americans with Alzheimer’s disease is expected to increase to 14 million by 2050.

Experts claim that six in ten people with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease will become disoriented and “wander,” ending up in unfamiliar surroundings, lost, frightened and defenseless.

Wandering is a life-threatening emergency prevalent in all stages of Alzheimer’s. No caregiver, no matter how careful or tireless they may be, can ever be in all places at once.

ActiveForever had this in mind when they teamed up with the folks who developed AMBER Alert GPS. The goal was to create a product aimed specifically at providing Alzheimer’s, dementia and senior caregivers with some well-deserved peace of mind.

ActiveForever adapted the enormously successful AMBER Alert GPS tracking system to the adult segment and created Active Halo GPS. This is a uniquely reliable, feature-rich, yet very cost-effective, customizable GPS tracking and reporting system designed specifically for medical and senior care facilities.
