How much do you know about Cerebral Palsy?
Cerebral palsy is a group of disorders that can involve brain and nervous system functions, including movement, learning, hearing, seeing, and thinking. These motor problems are initially seen in the first few years of the child’s life and generally don’t worsen over time.
What is going on in the body?
Cerebral palsy is a motor impairment caused by an injury to the brain. The brain damage usually occurs before birth. However, at times it can occur during delivery or even after the child is born.
There are four major types of Cerebral palsy:
- spastic CP, which involves permanent stiffness and contracture of the muscles
- athetoid, or dyskinetic, CP, which causes slow writhing movements
- ataxic CP, which is rare and affects the balance and depth perception
- mixed forms of CP, which include characteristics of the other three types of CP

At one time, CP was thought to be caused by the infant getting too little oxygen during birth. More recent studies suggest that most cases come from problems during pregnancy and not during delivery.

The Skinny on the Oil-heavy, Mediterranean Diet

Dr. Fuhrman is known to credit the observed benefits of the Mediterranean diet, not to the olive oil, but rather in spite of it, and instead notes the abundance of fruit, fish, beans, tomato sauce, salads, etc.,
Fat is fat is fat when it comes to losing weight. Weight loss is one of the greatest things a person can do for their heart and their health. While good fats like salmon, eggs and seeds do have significant health benefits, even they need to be used sparingly by those who are determined to shed extra bulk.
Any way you slice it, oil is pure, 100 percent fat. When a person is trying to lose weight, especially a person that is middle-age or older, that is simply too much.

Lady Gaga Could Benefit from some Far Infrared
Lady Gaga has cancelled her entire U.S. tour due to pains from Synovitis.
Medical tests revealed Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip. A hip labral tear involves the ring of soft elastic tissue, called the labrum, that follows the outside rim of the socket of the hip joint.
Often compared to lupus, Synovitis, also known as “Toxic Synovitis” is an inflammation within the hip joint. A diagnosis is obtained following an ultrasound or joint x-rays of the hip or blood tests.
What is going on in the body?
Synovitis is a non-traumatic hip pain, which means that it is not caused by an injury. Instead, pain is caused by swelling and inflammation in the hip. Synovitis often follows an upper respiratory infection such as a cold or flu.
What are the signs and symptoms of the disease?
- pain in one hip
- a limp or inability to bear weight because of the hip pain
- low grade fever at the beginning of the illness
- knee and thigh pain on the affected side
- often the infected person does not appear to be ill
What are the causes and risks of the disease?
While Synovitis often follows an upper respiratory infection, the exact cause is not clear, so there is no known prevention.
According to The Detroit News (and others) Lady Gaga released the following statement when announcing the initial cancellations: “I am completely devastated and heartsick. I’ve been hiding this injury and pain from my staff for a month, praying it would heal, but after last night’s performance I could not walk.”
